Boundaries and Secrets

I aim to pare down a work to the essence of shape. Everything that is extraneous is eliminated. I consider all via an intellectual game, using the powers of perception, not just observation, to create works that have tension and visual drama.

These works often respond to the edges of the square or rectangular shape of paper. I contemplate the interaction of all compositional elements, within the work. What is left is simple, and seems more resolved. A satisfying reality. A way into the ‘indelible image’ that is a landscape of our subconscious.
